The voting issue is gaining momentum. Between Covid, problems for some people overseas, coronavirus impacting the available workforce and the ability to open up booths, particularly in rural and regional communities, and the impact of floods in northern NSW, voting has been a very fraught issue this time round, and the AEC has been working overtime trying to plug the gaps. That is up to them. I have always respected the decisions of Australians, those quiet Australians as I refer to them, they are out there working hard every day and they are considering their choice very carefully. A lower back stress fracture is restricting Australian cricket star Ellyse Perry to batting only ahead of the Commonwealth Games. Perry has been named in the powerful 15-player national squad for Birmingham, where women's T20 will make its Games debut but Cricket Australia has revealed the all-rounder is nursing the injury and it is unclear for now whether she will bowl during their tour. Australia will play a T20 series against Ireland and Pakistan in Derry between 16 and 23 July before the Commonwealth Games. Their first Games match will be against India on 29 July. Eligibility for telephone voting will be expanded to allow Covid-positive Australians to vote in Saturday's election. Drivers in the Golden state are paying more for a gallon of fuel than anywhere else in the country at an average of $6.06, an all-time high for California and the US, according to AAA. The national average is nearly $4.59 a gallon, also a record, increasing 10 cents since Monday.
